Today, there are more than 1,100
people working directly on the State brand located in
two call centres and a nationwide network of sales
centres. We have more than 700,000 customers and manage
around 1.5 million policies.
In 2005 we celebrated our Centenary. We’re proud to
continue helping our customers to lead the lives we
want, without having to worry about financial concerns
when things go wrong.
We are New Zealand’s largest personal insurer, with
nearly a 20 percent share of the personal insurance
market.
State is a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited,
which received a Claims Paying Ability Rating of AA
(very strong) on 1 October 2005 from the international
rating agency Standard & Poor’s.
State has relationships with brokers and other insurance
intermediaries who issue our policies. IAG New Zealand
Limited pays remuneration to brokers and insurance
intermediaries when they issue State policies, and when
these policies are renewed or varied.
